The school is great. Students and faculty are very helpful. The students need to be open-minded, however, to get the full BGSU experience.

It was a great education from a respected University. I am just as proud of my BGSU degree as anyone that attended, either online or on campus. Classes are delivered through a Web-based enterprise portal. That I could access as needed. It provided me with the flexible schedule I required.

The portal also has chat features one-on-one time with faculty and student-to-student contact. I am proud of my accomplishment and met more friends and contacts than I thought possible online. My new degree allows me the opportunity to advance my career beyond my expectations.

My experience at BGSU definitely prepared me for the "real world". The math and statistics skills I learned at BGSU were invaluable for both my job as an actuary and for studying to get my actuarial credentials. Also, teaching classes as a teaching assistant prepared me to lead training sessions on the job. It helped to rid me of the fear of speaking in front of people. I would definitely recommend BGSU's math and statistics program. The professors are excellent instructors plus they remain approachable and friendly.

BGSU has made getting my degree easy and attainable. Although I was somewhat intimated by computer based classes I also found it a relief to be able to decide when it was convenient to go on-line. I was able to do projects at my leisure and interact with other non-traditional students on a regular basis. In 2003 I gave birth to my son. Since my classes were on-line I was able to work around his birth on a level I would not have been able to do had I been in a traditional class. I was also able to plan around family vacations and events. Don’t get me wrong, with on-line classes you have to be dedicated, task-oriented and hard working but as long as you stay on track then you make the decision when to go on-line and when to work on projects.
