Originally called Piedmont Bible Institute (and later Piedmont Bible College), the school changed its name in 2001 to its current name to reflect its Baptist heritage and beliefs. Piedmont Baptist College is located near downtown Winston-Salem and blocks away from the historic district of Old Salem.Academics
The College is dedicated to excellence in educating men and women to serve God. All academic programs are rigorous and challenging. Integrated with the biblical and theological studies are courses in the humanities, the social sciences and the natural sciences. General education courses provide students with knowledge of cultural and academic resources for more skillful and effective Christian ministry.
The four-year programs include a Bible major because of our steadfast belief that nothing prepares people to serve God better than a full understanding of His Word. Learners may choose from a variety of professional vocations designed to fulfill Godís work around the world. The degrees are offered in pastoral studies, music, teacher education, missionary aviation, missions and youth work. Each program includes a practicum so that students can apply theoretical instruction to meaningful and practical real-world experience necessary to skillful service. All students are taught by credentialed faculty with years of experience in their fields.Athletics
The College believes that athletics are essential to the college experience and offers many opportunities for students to represent the Lord and the college in sport, either as a spectator or student-athlete. Piedmont Baptist College is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II, South Region which consists of nine colleges primarily in Georgia, Mississippi and Florida. The menís basketball team has appeared in four regional semi-final games since 1997.Financial Aid
The main goal for Piedmont's financial aid is to make a quality education accessible to qualified students. A diversity of grants, scholarships, awards, and loans are available to those who meet the requirements. The College contributes approximately $1 million annually and over 90% of university's students receive some form of financial aid funds.
