The University of Rio Grande was established in 1876. It has partnered with Rio Grande Community College to offer students from both educational institutions a variety of undergraduate and graduate level programs.

In addition to the outstanding traditional campus programs, the College offers also a new Online Nursing Associate degree for Licensed Vocational and Practical Nurses to wish to become Registered Nurses. All the classes of this Advanced Placement Track Program are offered on-campus as well as online, which gives students a possibility to choose the format of study most convenient for them.

The associate degree in Nursing has been approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

Moreover, the University of Rio Grande is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.

Financial Aid Office administers financial aid programs offered to student of the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College.
