Washington State University is an American public research university in Pullman, Washington, that opened its doors in 1892 as the Washington Agricultural College and School of Science with 13 collegiate and 46 preparatory students.
The mission of the University is to enhance the intellectual, creative and practical abilities of the individuals, institutions, and communities that we serve by fostering learning, inquiry, and engagement.
Washington Sate University has the Center for Distance and Professional Education. This Center provides leadership for academic outreach activities through its two partner units: Distance Degree Programs (DDP) and the Professional Education (PE). The first unit offers online degree completion programs and the other provides professional development programs in both face-to-face and online formats. They offer Certificate programs, courses and degree programs.
WSU’s online courses are developed and taught by the same faculty who teach on campus. Our instructional designers work with faculty to create dynamic online courses that have the same learning outcomes as campus courses.
Students receive the same services as campus students including financial aid counseling, academic advising, library services, and career services. DDP was the first traditional campus in the nation to establish an online student government.
Offering online degrees, certificates, and professional development programs, Washington Sate University helps students, especially working adults, interested in pursuing a WSU degree online; academic departments and faculty interested in offering online courses or entire degree programs, or in disseminating their research; professionals who want to further their education; DDP alumni and others interested in getting or staying connected.
Online learning lets you pursue a world-class education from wherever you have Internet access. We offer accredited online undergraduate degree completion programs to students throughout Washington State, the United States— and the world.
