Lancaster Bible College was founded by Henry J. Heydt in September 1933. Eight day students and 14 evening students were enrolled in the original class, which met in the Convention Hall at West Orange and Pine Streets in Lancaster. At this time there were no tuition and no stated salaries. Since there was also no library, Dr. Heydt made his own extensive library available to students. The first graduating class consisted of five students.

Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School is an accredited non-denominational institution.

LBC is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) [formerly the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges (AABC)], and is approved by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). In addition to ACSI certification, graduates of the Elementary Education, Health and Physical Education, and M.Ed. School Counseling programs receive state certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Financial Aid
Financing a college education can be an overwhelming experience. However, the College’s Financial Aid Office assists students in financing their college education at LBC. Approximately 85% of all undergraduate students receive help from the many available sources.

The College offers numerous scholarships as part of the financial aid program. In addition, federal and state grants, as well as loans are available to students. Veterans Administration educational benefits and Vocational Rehabilitation benefits are also available for those who qualify. Finally, there are many employment opportunities, including on-campus and numerous off-campus jobs.

Lancaster Bible College is committed to preparing students to thoroughly know the Bible and live the Bible. They will find approximately 40% of the curriculum centered in the study of God's Word in all of 25 undergraduate programs of study which includes Degree Completion Program plus 14 programs in Graduate School. LBC also offers an adult continuing education program referred to as Institute of Biblical Enrichment (formerly Evening Institute). Feel free to contact us for more information on any of these options.
