Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurse (RN to BSN)

This program is designed for practicing registered professional nurses holding an associate degree or diploma degree in nursing. Completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree will take three semesters (or longer if preferred). The program builds on the knowledge and skills of the practicing nurse following completion of the core curriculum (60 hours). Associate degree nurses will receive 6 hours of transfer credit for their first medical-surgical nursing course taken in the associate degree program. Diploma graduates, not having college credit to transfer to GCSU for the medical-surgical nursing course, will be required to take NRSG 3441-Reflections on Competency-Based Practice (6 hours). Each student will receive 30 hours of articulation credits upon successful completion of 6 credit hours in the RN-BSN program. The BSN degree requires 120 credit hours. Students should apply and be accepted to GCSU during their core curriculum and receive advisement from the RN-BSN Coordinator. Registered Professional Nurses may be admitted to this program each semester. Interested nurses should submit their application to the RN-BSN program by the deadline in their last semester of core coursework. Students are admitted once their core coursework, Regents Exam, and U.S. and Georgia History requirements are completed.
