NIGMS awards three types of grants for research training and fellowships:
· Ruth L. Kirschstein Institutional National Research Service Awards (pre- and postdoctoral training grants)
· Ruth L. Kirschstein Individual National Research Service Awards (pre- and postdoctoral fellowships)
· Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Awards (undergraduate student training in academic research awards, predoctoral fellowships, faculty fellowships, visiting scientist fellowships, and ancillary training awards)

The National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Program promotes scholarship in the United States and abroad on matters relevant to the improvement of education in all its forms.

NATIONAL HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND
HSF offers a variety of scholarship programs intended to help students afford the college education of their choice by providing financial resources in addition to federal and/or institutional (college-based) financial aid.
HSF scholarships are for students enrolled-or intending to enroll-full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited, Title-IV eligible institution (most four-year colleges and universities are Title IV eligible) in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands.

NATIONAL HUMANITIES CENTER
Most of the Center's fellowships are unrestricted. The following designated awards, however, are available for the academic year 2005-06: three fellowships for scholars in any humanistic field whose research concerns religion; three fellowships for young scholars (up to 10 years beyond receipt of doctorate) in literary studies; a fellowship in art history or visual culture; a fellowship for French history or culture; a senior fellowship in Asian Studies, theology, or American art history.
