| Financial Aid Granting Institutions - 7 | KENNEDY MEMORIAL TRUST The scholarships (usually twelve in number) are offered annually. They are tenable at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). They can be used to fund any graduate course of study offered by Harvard and MIT, including Special Student (non-degree) and Visiting Fellow status. They cannot be used by post-doctoral candidates for further research in their own field. They provide tuition fees, health charges, return air fare and a stipend adequate to cover living expenses. They are normally tenable for one year, but in certain circumstances extra funding may be considered to help support a second year. Students wishing to apply for the Scholarships must also apply separately to Harvard or MIT for a place on the graduate programme of their choice. Applicants are advised to begin their research into the programmes available at Harvard and MIT as early as possible. It is extremely important that candidates are able to give detailed information about their proposed programme of study in the USA when they make their application to the Kennedy Trust. Anna Lalor Burdick Program The Anna Lalor Burdick Program seeks to educate young women about human reproduction in order to broaden and enhance their options in life. MARSHALL AID COMMEMORATION COMMISSION Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. At least forty Scholars are selected each year to study either at graduate or occasionally undergraduate level at an UK institution in any field of study. Each scholarship is held for two years. As future leaders, with a lasting understanding of British society, Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments and their institutions. Marshall Scholars are talented, independent and wide-ranging, and their time as Scholars enhances their intellectual and personal growth. Their direct engagement with Britain through its best academic programmes contributes to their ultimate personal success. Marshall Sherfield Fellowships The aim of the Marshall Sherfield Fellowships is to introduce American scientists and engineers to the cutting edge of UK science and engineering. It is intended that this in turn will build longer term contacts and international links between the United Kingdom and the United States in key scientific areas. The wider objectives of the scheme are identical to those of the Marshall Scholarships Programme. For more information click here
