| Financial Aid Granting Institutions - 1 | AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION The AAUW Educational Foundation--the world's largest source of funding exclusively for graduate women--supports aspiring scholars around the globe, teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages of their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are underrepresented. The Foundation funds American Fellowships support women doctoral candidates completing dissertations and scholars seeking funds for postdoctoral research leave or for preparing completed research for publication. Applicants must be U.S citizens or permanent residents. One-year postdoctoral research leave fellowships, dissertation fellowships, and summer/short-term research publication grants are offered. Career Development Grants support women who hold a bachelor's degree and who are preparing to advance their careers, change careers, or re-enter the work force. Applicants must be U.S citizens or permanent residents. Community Action Grants provide seed money to individual women, AAUW branches and AAUW state organizations, as well as local community-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs or nondegree research projects that promote education and equity for women and girls. Applicants must be U.S citizens or permanent residents. International Fellowships are awarded for full-time graduate or postgraduate study or research to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Supplemental grants support community-based projects in the fellow's home country. Selected Professions Fellowships are awarded to women who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who intend to pursue a full-time course of study (during the fellowship year) in designated degree programs where women's participation traditionally has been low. University Scholar-in-Residence, located at a college or university, undertakes and disseminates research on gender and equity for women and girls.

AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR PHARMACEUTICAL EDUCATION (AFPE) Pharm.D. and undergraduate student "Gateway to research" scholarships Outstanding Pharm.D. students as well as undergraduates in other science disciplines receive support for a faculty supervised undergraduate research experience. The purpose is to attract the most talented students to graduate study in the pharmaceutical sciences by offering a rewarding undergraduate research experience. First year graduate school scholarships Outstanding pharmacy school graduates who are members of Kappa Epsilon, Phi Lambda Sigma and Rho Chi are encouraged to continue their advanced education in graduate school in the pharmaceutical sciences to gain advanced degrees (Ph.D.) of value to the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacy. Pre-doctoral graduate fellowships in the pharmaceutical sciences Outstanding advanced Ph.D. candidates receive up to three years of support for the Ph.D. degree in the pharmaceutical sciences at a U.S. school or college of pharmacy. Graduates move into professional positions in the pharmaceutical industry and into academic positions to train tomorrow's pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. Clinical pharmacy Post-Pharm.D. fellowships in the biomedical research sciences Outstanding Pharm.D. graduates who have completed one or more post-doctoral residencies or fellowships can receive up to 2 years of support to obtain advanced education and training in relevant areas of the biomedical and related basic sciences in order to become competent clinical scientists. Pharmacy faculty investigator grants Outstanding pharmacy college faculty members in their first to fifth years are provided a one-time grant to assist in establishing a program of research. This grant program enhances the number and quality of faculty scientists committed to research and teaching in the academic pharmacy setting.
