Aberdeen College established e-learning in 1999. E-learning is another method of delivering education at a distance. It aims to make learning more accessible by offering educational opportunities for everyone. E-learning offers self-paced, interactive courses that can be accessed from a desktop or home computer and is a flexible, convenient way to improve skills.
As Scotland's largest and most progressive provider of further/higher education and vocational training, Aberdeen College provides quality learning experiences for more people than any other college in Scotland.
The extensive range of learning services provided by Aberdeen College includes: traditional full time education; part-time day, evening and weekend classes; flexible computer-based learning in our dedicated education Information Technology Centre (which is the largest of its kind in Europe); specialist training programmes for industry and commerce; distance learning; and, community-based learning which is delivered in partnership with other education providers.
Aberdeen College offers over 1,800 individual learning programmes across eight main subject areas of: Art, Design & Construction; Business Studies; Communication, Language & Media Studies; Engineering Technologies; Office Technology & Computing; Rural & Recreation Studies; Service Industries (Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy, Science, Consumer Studies and Hospitality); and, Social Studies.
