About Australian Correspondence Schools Established in 1979, ACS has educated thousands of full and part-time students, many of whom have gone onto successful employment, both in industry or in their own businesses. Others have used their courses to develop a hobby, or simply broaden their general education. We currently have over 3000 students enrolled from Australia and around the world. The school employs staff in 3 states of Australia, plus the U.K., U.S.A and New Zealand. As such our courses and service have a truly global focus. Courses have been developed with strong industry input from around the world and are continually updated on the basis of surveys undertaken by both current students and graduates every month of the year.
The school holds high the ideals of practical education, emphasising in all courses those things which are relevant to "real life". Courses offered cater for hobby interest through to formal training in industry and the professions.
For all your education and training needs by distance education (correspondence). ACS has educated thousands of full and part-time students, many of whom have gone onto successful employment in industry and in their own businesses. We currently have over 3000 students enrolled from around the world and more than 300 courses on offer.
The internet can be an excellent tool for Distance Learning through the Australian Correspondence Schools.
Here are some of the ways you may use the net to aid (and perhaps speed) your studies:
1. Contacting tutors We have tutors on duty five days a week at our Melbourne and Gold Coast offices. -E Mail us any questions regarding your studies; and we will respond when we next check our E mail (usually daily).
2. Sending assignments -Any written assignments can be sent to us by E mail. This saves the cost of postage, can be faster, and is perhaps more reliable than what the postal system sometimes is. -Photos or drawings may be sent over the net if you have access to a scanner. (This possibility will improve over the coming years). -Some assignment work (eg. samples of things you made) may still need to be sent via the post (or courier).
3. Communicating with other students -Find other students living in your locality, or studying similar courses. -Liaise with them, share information; discuss your projects and assignments over the net.
4. Reserch for assignments -Search information for any research work via the net. -E mail the school for suggestions about where and how to search for specific information and contacts over the net. -Use a net search to find addresses and phone numbers of contacts you can visit to undertake practical or research tasks in your studies.
5. Accessing the school's database -When appropriate, we can down load files from our extensive data base, and E mail them to you -The school has a data base which includes the course notes of more than 300 current and redundant courses; plus more than 40 published books & magazines written by our staff. If a student requests more information on something they are studying, it is very likely that we will be able to quickly E Mail you a part of something from the data base.
6. Make valuable contacts -Contact people and organisations in your area of study. -Develop relationships which may be useful in your future work.
6. Online trainang - Download course notes, perform self tests and chat with tutors and students.
